How Google's Focus Mode Can Save You From Unhealthy Phone Addition

With the emergent integration of social networking sites like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Tok Tik, into the home screen of our smartphone. It is easy to make us always focus on our screen, which may lead to an unhealthy phone addition. Do you live your life on your smartphone and have trouble leaving the house without him? If the first thing to do in the morning is to check your phone and the last thing you do before you sleep is your phone, you may be experiencing unhealthy phone addiction.

This is a problem that can affect your productivity, mental health, and relationships. The good news is that Google's Focus Mode can protect you from this harmful addiction. This tool is designed to combat distraction apps on your Android device. Google's Focus Mode saves you from becoming your worst enemy by calming distracting apps.

Google's Focus Mode was initially announced last May at Google's annual conference; the tool stops your most disrupting apps for as long as you want with a timer that prevents you from using them for set increments. When the time is up, Google will unpause the app.
Google believes app timers, such as Focus Mode, will help users avoid over-using apps more than 90 percent of the time. This tool enables you to choose which apps you want to pause, such as Instagram and Facebook which tend to distract you with notifications. However, you can as well open some messaging apps in case of an emergency.

Google Focus Mode is the most recent feature that helps promote digital health, alongside digital wellbeing features such as Wind Down mode, which help turns the screen to grayscale, designed to help you feel sleepy and less interested in staring at your screen at night. Another feature filters the blue light that is believed to disturb sleep patterns and keeps you awake longer.

Apple's iPhones have similar features that help you get rid of phone addiction, which experts say can lead to physical stress from abuse and mental addiction to devices that keep users from engaging in the physical world. Focus Mode is placed on all devices with parental control settings and Digital Wellbeing, including new phones with Android 9 and Android 10.
